Peak 10850. Sheep Pen Peak 10,615 feet, by Rick Baugher. See Page 266.
One of the most visible of the high peaks as seen from Challis and Round
Valley is Sheep Pen Peak. It is the northernmost 10000' summit in the Pahsimeroi
Lost River Range and is believed to be the last 10'er to be climbed in the LRR.

The view is SSW from Pahsimeroi Valley with Grouse Creek Mountain 11085' on
left, and Sheep Pen Peak 10850' right. The low point on the 1.2 mile connecting
ridge is 10500', giving Sheep Pen Peak a prominence of 350'. This summit has had
3 different spot elevations over the years. The 1935 Borah Peak 30 minute quad
showed 10876'. The elevation was lowered on the 1956 Doublespring 15 min map to
10843'. The current elevation as shown on the 1989 Meadow Peak 7.5 min quad is
10850'.
