Bog Benchmark is located south of Deadwood Reservoir. The peak has a long North/South summit ridge. The high point is crossed by the road that leads to Deadwood Lookout, which sits south of the main summit. To reach the summit, take the Deadwood Reservoir Road from Banks/Lowman Highway. This dirt road is usually graded. A side road leads to the summit and then to the lookout. I suggest using a mountain bike to reach this peak. The lookout is available to rent. Reservations can be made at the recreation.gov website. Be aware that you need to make reservations months in advance. USGS Scott Creek
