Kepros
Kepros is another great spring hike. Unlike Shaw Mountain and Peak 4987, it sees little use in the spring.

Kepros is listed in the book at page 152. This is a great up and down hike with a total of over 1,700 feet of elevation gain over 10 miles.

This photo was taken from Heinen Peak and shows the long ridge walk from
Three Point Mountain to Kepros.

Nicholas Kepros Collias provided me with the following information "the peak is named after my great grandfather, George Kepros, who homesteaded and ran sheep there. My grandmother, the last surviving Kepros, was thrilled to read about the peak in my copy of your book."

After climbing from the road to the north ridge of Three Point Mountain, look north. The route descends into the a saddle. Follow the marked route around the next rather than climbing up the trail on the ridge. Just stay on or near the ridge crest as it goes up and down to the summit.

The route follows the ridge north.

This is truly a spectacular hiking route.
