The Grand Slam Peaks Overview
The Grand Slam peaks are Heinen, Kerpos, Shaw Mountain and Peak 4987 (aka Cervidae). These four peaks are all near Boise and offer great spring hiking. All but Heinen are in the book. I climb these peaks every spring. While I originally thought they would be just good conditioning hikes, I quickly came to appreciate the quality of the routes and the beauty of these mountains. Each year the experience is a little different depending on the harshness of the previous winter and the date of my climb.
