This peak is not in the book. Brian Westphal identified this formation which he located on a 1965 Mazamas sketch, see below, but there was never anything written about it in their report. Published August 2026

Although no route description exists for this spire, a sketch from the 1965 Mazama visit to the Sawtooths made by Dr. Donald C. Eastman, see below, depicts a spire on the arete between the Goat and Iron Creek drainages at approximately 8500 feet. Lead guide for the Mazamas in 1965 was Lyman Dye, EE-DA-HOW Mountaineering, and coincidentally his notes contain a reference to the “Eastman Spire” as having been climbed but does not give details of the climb. Based on the sketch, ground-truthing (photograph), and LiDAR analysis of the terrain on the Goat/Iron divide, the location of the “Eastman Spire” has been determined.
