This peak is not in the book. Kaden suggested the name the cause of the summit block’s similarity to a lookout tower and how it separates from the ridge, overlooking the valley below. Published March 2026

This stunning, ragged peak is located west of the Sawtooth Crest in the uppermost reaches of the Goat Creek drainage. I could not find any published reports on this peak. Limber Lake is on its western side and Packrat Lake is on eastern side. USGS Warbonnet Peak

Access

There is no easy access route to upper Goat Creek. The best way to approach this climb, and access the summit block, would be from Three Lake.

The most efficient way to reach Three Lake is probably from the Upper Redfish Lake basin. [(A)(6)(c.1) Page 207]

Three Lake can also be reached from the Warbonnet Lake cirque. [(6)(C.e) Page 207]  Follow the drainage down past Feather Lakes, Blue Rock Lake and then into the Goat Creek drainage. Follow the drainage up to Three Lake.

Northeast Face, Unclimbed Class 5 Terrain

From Three Lake climbing to the summit ridge is mostly Class 2. The last  then class 200 feet to the pedestal that the summit block balances on is Class 4.

Once on the pedestal, the only reasonable looking route on the summit block is on its NE face. It starts up this #5 sized crack, to reach the top of a ledge, from this ledge, delicate moves on small holds to reach an obvious jug on the next downward slanting ledge. After mantling this and standing, one last ledge must be reached before the summit. This is where I bailed on 8/17/2026 due to the difficulty of having to downclimb the last hard move, I would have liked a rope to rappel, and maybe protect the final moves.
