Ben Nickell is an Idaho adventurer, peakbagger, and outdoor enthusiast based in southeast Idaho. He enjoys exploring remote corners of Idaho and the surrounding states, from rugged mountain trails and backcountry roads to lesser-known landscapes and historic sites.

His current project is climbing all 44 Idaho county high points, a journey that has taken him to places he likely would never have discovered otherwise and introduced him to some of the state’s most remote and fascinating terrain.

A lifelong ski and snowboard instructor, Ben has spent years helping others experience the mountains. His adventures also include trail running, ultrarunning, and astrophotography — pursuits that share the same curiosity and appreciation for the landscapes, challenges, and quiet moments found outdoors.

Outside of the outdoors, Ben works in high-performance computing and volunteers as a NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador, combining his interests in technology, science, and exploration.
