This list shows the steepest ranked peak in each Idaho county based on calculations explained in the Top 500 Steepest ID Peaks List. Caribou County and Bear County share Meade Peak as their steepest peak.

Please note that Bannock Peak is on the Fort Hall Reservation, Peak 2730 is on the Nez Perce Reservation and Peak 6575/Walters Butte and Hawk Benchmark are on private land and are not open to the public. I am not familiar with access to several other peaks on the list.

The fact that the rest of the peaks are on public land does not guarantee that access will always be straightforward. Always make that there is public access before attempting an ascent. Climbing was banned on the Twin Sisters in 1998 by the National Park Service. The “Rank” figure on the left is the peak’s steepness rank out of all 5,856 Idaho summits.
