Particular Knoll is a minor hump that separates Duckworth Creek from House Creek in the foothills of the Caribou Mountains. It can be driven (or hiked) from nearby Dan Creek Road with little effort. This knoll is “particularly” uninteresting. USGS Homer Valley

Access

From Exit 116/Sunnyside Road on I-15 in Idaho Falls, drive east on Sunnyside Road all the way to its end at a “T” junction with Bone Road. Drive south on Bone Road for 0.1 miles to a signed junction with Eagle Pass Road. Go left/east on Eagle Pass Road (which soon merges into Kepps Crossing Road) and drive 8.3 miles to a signed junction with Dan Creek Road. Reset your odometer here.

Turn right/south onto Dan Creek Road and drive 18.2 miles to a cattle guard and a 2-track road (shown on the USGS topo map) heading left/northeast all the way to the summit of Particular Knoll. Park near the cattle guard along Dan Creek Road [6,326feet; 43°13’11.8”N, 111°31’31.9”W].

The Climb

From Dan Creek Road, hike up the 2-track as it heads northeast to the bare, uninspiring summit. Stay left/northwest of a nearby fence row early on to stay on public land. While this 2-track road crosses a small patch of private property initially, the State of Idaho seems to have an easement as there is no gates or signage to prohibit entry even by motorized vehicle.
