Liv Douglas recently launched a new channel on YouTube that focuses on travel and hiking/climbing in Idaho. The channel is called Idaho Explorer. Here is a link to the channel (https://www.youtube.com/@idahoexplorer-m2g). The videos on the channel are a combination of sightseeing and hiking/climbing. He plans to release one video/week, with a total of 15-20 videos to be released during 2026. Each video will include dozens of beautiful photos and some will include video clips. The videos will typically be 20-30 minutes in length.
The initial focus is on eastern, southern, and central Idaho. There will be a highway series and a mountain range series. The highway series explores Idaho’s cities/towns, mountains/hills, rivers/creeks, lakes/reservoirs, and campgrounds/trails—highway by highway. For example, his first video travels along US-26 East from Idaho Falls to Swan Valley to Alpine Junction, WY. This episode visits the towns of Ririe, Swan Valley, Irwin, Victor, Driggs, and Alpine (WY). It explores the Snake River as well as Ririe Reservoir and the magnificent Palisades Reservoir. The episode includes extensive coverage of specific hills and mountains in the Big Hole Mountains, Snake River Range, and Caribou Range. Here is a link to the video (https://youtu.be/v99faSO_Jhw).
The mountain series will focus on specific mountain ranges in Idaho (e.g., Beaverheads, Lemhis, Lost Rivers, Centennials). Not surprisingly, Liv includes extensive coverage of Idaho’s amazing mountains, hills, and buttes in both series. He comments on his personal experiences with trailheads, campgrounds, hiking trails, and specific hikes/climbs. The channel is educational in nature and is intended to help viewers enjoy Idaho’s great outdoors. Liv refers followers to the IACG website for more detailed information on driving directions, property issues, BLM/FS roads, trails, and hiking/climbing routes for specific mountains.
I encourage you to check out the Idaho Explorer channel. Fasten your seat belts and enjoy the ride!
