Peak 7134 is the high point on a ridge that sits above ID-75 at the Mormon Bend Campground. It is a magnificent scramble in open terrain from the campground and I highly recommend it. USGS East Basin Creek

Southwest Face/Southeast Ridge, Class 2

The Climb

From the pullout along ID-75, cross to the north side of the highway and bushwhack through a small patch of pines. Once past the pines, scramble directly north-northeast up the steep sagebrush face, staying right/east of a dry gully. Alternatively, cross to the left/west side of the gully to reach a shoulder/rib that offers better footing to reach the summit ridge. Reach the ridge crest and follow a game trail north as it skirts the left/west side of a minor ridge hump. Scramble up the open scrub on the ridge as the ridge bends left-ish/northwest and heads up over a false summit. Continue northwest to the sagebrush-covered summit of Peak 7134. There was a small cairn atop the summit so I built it up significantly. The descent back down to the highway is very fast, thanks to the loose gravel underneath the sagebrush. Substantial weaving is required to make your way through the unending sagebrush.
