Although this peak has only 289 feet of prominence, it sits on the Continental Divide at the apex of a complex ridge system which makes it an attractive goal. USGS Morrison Lake
Baldy Mountain
The hike starts on a rolling section of the Continental Divide.
This section of the range is easy to navigate with lots of grassy slopes.
I wonder if wolves have moved the mountain goats off these rolling ridges.
Eventually the route begins to climb steeply and you reach more alpine-type terrain.
