Elevation: 8,280 ft
This peak is not in the book.
It is located in the southern reaches of central section of the Salmon River Mountains. It rise abruptly above gigantic Bruce Meadows and offers a great view of the surrounding area, much of which has burned in the last 20 years. The lookout is no longer used and looks like it could topple at any time but the road to the top is in good shape for mountain biking, which is my preferred way to climb this peak. The summit is roughly 3.5 miles from the Deer Flat Guard Station with a 1,900 foot elevation gain.
Access the the road to the summit (FS-583) from the Deer Flat Guard Station which is on FS-579 (C)(1). Additional access information can be found in the book on page 138.
