This peak is not in the book. Note: Jason traverses from this peak to Gerdie Hill. His route between the peaks continues on the Caveney Hill page. Jason points out “Our total stats were 6.23 miles and almost 4000 feet of gain. You could also easily add Lead Mountain to this route in a long day.” Published October 2021

Cavaney Hill is located on the east side of the Silver City Road and north of the Owyhee Mountains/Silver City Range crest. USGS Silver City

From Hwy 78 go east on Silver City Road [(A)(2) Page 346] and park at the big parking area on the west side of the road at 10.8 Miles. This is in Half Moon Gulch. There are no good parking spots for this peak on the Silver City Road south of Half Moon Gulch.

Southwest Ridge, Class 2

From our parking area we hiked up the road about 1200 feet to bypass private property. Leave the road and climb the steep Southwest ridge to the summit of Cavaney Hill. I left a Summit Register.
