Lone Tree sits on the main West Mountains Crest due north of Mica Ridge. It can be climbed via its northwest ridge or from any point along its west face from the West Mountain Jeep Trail. It can also be climbed via its southwest ridge from the saddle connecting it to Mica Ridge. USGS Lone Tree

Access

Same as for Mica Ridge.

Southwest Ridge, Class 2

The summit is reached via a short climb up this ridge which gains 255 feet in less than 0.4 miles. Unless you are really into the 4-wheeling experience, I recommend that you park at the junction of FSR-692 and the West Mountain Jeep Trail.

My GPS track for the traverse of Mica Ridge and Lone Tree. (Note: There is a defective straight line in the track near the saddle.) This route covers roughly 2.6 miles and gains just under 600 feet in elevation.
