Packrat’s Northeast Ridge Route and its summit block are one of the classic Sawtooth climbs. Below are a few photos of the climb. USGS Warbonnet Peak
The summit block is the crux for most climbers on this technical peak. There is a link below to a YouTube video by Tom Burton, who climbs the block without any technical gear. I struggled up the summit block after we threw a rope over the summit and used it as an upper belay. After watching the Burton video, I wonder how he does it so easily. Obviously, he is a confident climber.
The cross-country route to Upper Redfish Lakes starts at Alpine Lake.

Most of the Northeast Ridge is Class 3.
The technical climbing starts at the summit block. Route finding can be tricky in spots but the climbing stays in the low Class 5 area.
