Peak 11087 (Windows Peak)

Elevation: 11,087 ft

This peak is not in the book. Judi Steciak and Carl Hamke provided the following route information. See their article on the missing Eleveners in the climbing history section of this site.

(Class 2)

This peak is located just under a mile SSE of Peak 11,161.  From the North Fork Big Wood River (A)(9)(a), follow the trail up the drainage until it crosses the 8,600 ft. contour.  Contour southwest across the West Fork of the Big Wood River and take advantage of herd paths to reach the flat area at 9,240 feet.  Head west until the 9,600 ft. contour.  To maximize the length of a pleasant ridge walk, stay as far east as practical as you climb north up the steep south face to reach the east ridge.  Follow the ridge to the summit.
