North Fork Big Wood River [(A)(9)(a) on Page 241]

East Ridge, Class 2+

Follow the trail up the drainage until it crosses the 8,600-foot contour. Contour southwest across the West Fork of the Big Wood River and take advantage of herd paths to reach a flat area at 9,240 feet. Head west until reaching the 9,600-foot contour. To maximize the length of a pleasant ridge walk, stay as far east as practical as you climb north up the steep South Face to reach the East Ridge. Follow the ridge to the summit.
