This peak is a southwestern outlier of the West Mountains. It is located just west of Peak 3895 on the north side of Little Wilson Creek east of Paddock Valley Reservoir. Peak 4035 has massive views to the north, south, and west with a nice view of Paddock Valley Reservoir. USGS Paddock Valley Reservoir

Access

From the junction of ID-16 and ID-52 in Emmett, follow ID-52 north through a 4-way junction at 3.3 miles. Continue straight on Van Deusen Road for 13.0 miles, where the road reaches a junction after crossing Big Willow Creek. Take the left fork onto Four Mile Road. Four Mile Road is passable to most vehicles when dry. Follow this road for 10.1 miles and park on the side of the road. From this parking spot climb Peak 3895.

East Face, Class 2

To reach Peak 4035, descend the steep, rocky west face of Peak 3895.  Avoid the steepest portion of the face by down-climbing either the north or south sides of the face as shown on the GPS track below. The north end of the face butts up against private property that was not fenced or posted but I chose to go closer to the south side of the rock wall. From there, it is a steep drop to another larger creek crossing at Cherry Gulch. Once across that, I scrambled up the steep east face of Peak 4035 to reach the summit.
