Access
Same as for Pioneer Peak. This is the final leg of a 2-peak adventure that includes Pioneer Peak (6,770 feet) and Soldier Peak.
Northeast Ridge, Class 1
The Climb
From the 5,671-foot connecting saddle with Pioneer Peak, hike southwest up a 2-track service road that leads to the cairned summit of Soldier Peak. The summit sits just above the top of a chairlift. From the summit, return to the connecting saddle then bushwhack south down a sagebrush-clogged gully to intercept the footpath that switchbacks down to the 2-track road in the gully that heads left/east back to Pioneer Campground. Walk down the 2-track road to return to your parked vehicle.
