Elevation: 9,344 ft
Prominence: 524
This peak is not in the book. It is located 1.9 miles west of Blacknose Peak. Johnson Creek is on its south side. Pinchot Creek is on its east side and Ballentyne Creek is on its north side. It connects via a ridge to Smoky Peak. I have not climbed it or talked with any one who has.
The region between the North Fork Boise River and the Queens River Divide is remote, even by Idaho standards. Access is difficult from any direction as trails are irregularly maintained and often are impacted by forest fires which tend to obliterate trails. As a result, few people visit this area. If you venture into this area, you will find the following remote summits: Edaho Mountain, Big Buck Mountain, Smoky Mountain, Peak 9344 and Tackobe Mountain. None of these peaks are in the book. If you climb them, please let me know. USGS Nahneke Mountain
