Salmon Mountain is the tallest summit along the Magruder Corridor. The fire lookout on the summit is staffed during the summer. Views from the summit are nearly endless; and the peak has two impressive faces, northeast and south, that tower over mountain lakes.
The excellent Salmon Mountain Trail, FST-705, leads to the summit in 1.2 miles with 672 feet of gain. Access the trailhead 47.5 miles east of the western beginning of the Magruder Corridor.
