Gospel Hill is located roughly 1.1 miles west of Pyramid Peak and directly west of Upper Pyramid Lake. It is located in the Gospel-Hump Wilderness Area south of Grangeville, Idaho. Although called a “Hill,” it is a legitimate peak with over 380 feet of prominence.
The peak and many surrounding peaks can be accessed from FS-444 (see Page 80 of the book). This road cuts into the middle of the wilderness, providing amazingly good access to the high country. The road goes along the western flanks of the peak just 250 feet below the summit. Scramble to the summit for a great view down the steep face to the lake. USGS Sawyer Ridge
