May Mountain

Elevation: 10,971 ft
Prominence: 1,151

Climbing and access information for May Mountain is on page 298.

May Mountain takes a long day to climb. It is, perhaps, the most interesting summit in the northern Lemhi Range. The route described in the book is a classic mixture of a forested ascent up steep slopes to a skyline ridge which approaches the convoluted summit ridge with multiple obstacles. The photos below provide bit of perspective.

The book describes a route from the west and the peak’s south ridge. To climb the peak from the east and peak’s east ridge see Dan Saxton’s route description and photos.
