North Star Butte is located a little over a mile northwest of Ant Butte in the southeastern Seven Devils Mountains. John Platt and company climbed this peak as part of a long loop hike. His trip report is linked below. USGS Pollock Mountain

East Slopes, Class 2
The shortest approach route is from the Ant Basin 2 Trailhead by using the following trails. Take FST-519 and then FST-178 to its junction with FST-183 and FST-184. Either climb directly to the summit from the junction or follow FST-183 north until you are due east of the peak, leave the trail and hike west to the summit.
