Access

The best access is from the Wilson Creek drainage located east of the mountain. Drive or hike the Getaway Mountain 4WD Road to the base of Getaway Mountain.

West Face, Class 2

Leave the Getaway Mountain 4WD Road and follow the broad, treeless ridgeline southwest toward Peak 6311. There are game/cow trails on this ridgeline. Pass Point 5973 on its east side. Pass Points 6108 and 6102 on their west sides on a good game trail. Drop into the saddle between Point 6102 and Peak 6311. From the saddle, an ATV track climbs up Peak 6311’s East Face to within 100 vertical feet of the top. There are 2 high points. The southwest summit is the true summit.

My GPS track (light green) recorded 2.2 miles with 450 feet of elevation gain.
