Peak 6820 is the third of three peaks that surround a basin north of Timbered Dome: Peak 7444, Peak 7248, and Peak 6820. It is best accessed via the elusive Latham Hollow Road which begins at Antelope Creek Road. USGS Grouse

Access

Same as for Peak 7444. This is the final leg of a three-peak adventure on the north side of Timbered Dome.

North Face, Class 2

The Climb

From the flat meadow at the head of a drainage at the base of the west ridge of Peak 7248, bushwhack southwest then south up easy, open scrub to reach the cairned summit of Peak 6820.

West Face, Class 2

The Descent

From the summit, descend west to cross the head of a drainage and pick up a lateral cattle trail heading left/west up a stream. After about ½ mile, find a jeep road that crosses the creek drainage. Go left/southwest onto the jeep road as it follows the left side of the creek. This is Latham Hollow Road. Follow the road west then northwest then north to reach a ridge crest just west of Point 7278. The road crosses two patches of private land but I saw no signage prohibiting use of the road. Continue northward down Latham Hollow Road as it descends back to Antelope Creek Road.
