Peak 6968 sits due south of Indian Mountain and west of the main West Mountains Crest. We counted 15 piles of bear scat on our walk to the summit–hence the proposed name. USGS King Hill Creek
Access
This peak is accessed from FSR-243. See the Indian Mountain page for access information. Follow FSR-243 toward Indian Mountain for 3.8 miles and a small meadow. Park at this point.
North Ridge, Class 2
From the parking area, walk south toward the peak’s north ridge. A faint game trail emerges as you reach the forest. The north ridge is brushy so do your best to stay on this game trail which soon reaches the east side of the ridge crest. Follow it to the big, bald summit in just under a mile.
