Peak 7060 is located on the north side of Cold Spring Canyon. It is most easily reached from the south via Cold Spring Canyon Road (1825S Road) and a 2-track that heads north up a gully from that road. This is the second leg of a 2-peak adventure that includes Peak 7138 and Peak 7060. This journey covers 5.5 miles with 2,025 feet of elevation gainround trip. USGS Sublett Reservoir

Access

Same as for Peak 7138. This is the final leg of a 2-peak journey that begins along Cold Spring Canyon Road.

East Ridge, Class 2

The Climb

From the 6,780-foot connecting saddle with Peak 7138, follow the easy, undulating ridge west on easy, short scrub, and broken scree to the summit of Peak 7060. There was no summit cairn so I built one. The summit offers a stunning view of Sublett Reservoir to the west.

South Ridge, Class 2

The Descent

From the summit, descend east (briefly) to reach the top of the south ridge. Follow the obvious ridge south down to the 2-track road at its terminus. The ridge terrain is easy scrub and broken scree high up but is covered with medium sagebrush and other brush midway down and thick sagebrush and other brush just above the canyon floor and the 2-track road. The final descent to the old road is STEEP sagebrush/scrub with a loose scree/gravel base. Once on the 2-track road, follow it southwest then south to Cold Spring Canyon Road and the water tank.
