ID-21 at the Banner Summit Rest Area
North Ridge, Class 2
The peak’s long North Ridge begins at the rest area. From your parking spot, follow the ridge east and then north to the summit. Along the way, the route crosses Point 8828. Between this point and the summit, there is a 200 vertical foot drop. Brett ascended the route in the Winter on snowshoes but this route is doable in the summer. If you plan a winter ascent, be sure that snow conditions are safe prior to starting your climb. Round trip stats: 6.2 miles with 2,240 feet of elevation gain.
