Peak 9027 (McCabe Peak)

Elevation: 9,027 ft
Prominence: 1,527

This peak is not in the book. This peak and the surrounding summits may be the most spectacular peaks in the Lick Creek Range. It is unquestionable that this area is the most difficult area to access in Lick Creek Range. Updated October 2018

This is an extremely hard to reach summit. John Platt and friends climbed the peak from the Lick Creek Road via a strenuous route that is not in the book. See John’s trip report (linked below) for the details. As you will see from reviewing the trip report this is a classic route that needs to go on your hardcore list. I have also linked John’s 2018 trip report for his ascent of nearby Fitsum Summit as it has additional access information.
