Peak 9211 is the most prominent peak located along Artillery Dome Road, which cuts a non-wilderness path into the heart of the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness. The views from its summits are spectacular. USGS Chinook Mountain
Peak 9211 is on the horizon on a smoky day when viewed from Walkers Peak.
Access
Access this peak via 4WD Artillery Dome Road. Follow the road for 14.7 miles from its start, keeping left at the last two intersections you encounter as the Artillery Dome Road crosses the peak’s south ridge. Park on the broad south ridge.
South Ridge, Class 2
If you manage to drive to the parking spot, you can walk up the peak’s south ridge in five minutes.
