Peak 8594 is located northwest of the Bonanza townsite. It is one of three ranked summits that have Jordan Creek to the east and the West Fork Yankee Fork to the south. This area has substantial burn scars so take appropriate precautions in undertaking this climb. USGS Mount Jordan

Access

Same as for Peak 8151.This is the second leg of a 3-peak adventure that includes Peak 8151, Peak 8594, and Peak 8620. It covers 7.0 miles with 3,375 feet of elevation gain round trip.

South Ridge, Class 2

The Climb

From the 7,780-foot connecting saddle with Peak 8151, scramble north through scattered, charred timber and skirt (or climb over) a rocky ridge outcrop to reach the small, bare summit of Peak 8594. The summit has no cairn and no loose rocks with which to build one.

West Ridge, Class 2

The Descent

From the summit, descend southwest then west then south on the meandering ridge crest to reach the 8,260-foot connecting saddle with Peak 8620. The west ridge is open scrub and gravel and goes quickly. This saddle concludes the second leg of today’s 3-peak journey. Peak 8620 is up next.
