I am originally from Bellingham, Washington. While living there, I wasn’t much into peak bagging/mountain running. Mostly spent my time weight lifting, bouldering, and hiking to lakes or viewpoints that I’d find on Google Maps. After moving to Boise, my first peak attempt was Mount Thompson after finding it on Google Maps. Due to missing the climbers’ trail, I ended up at Marshall Lake and returned the next week to complete Thompson. My obsession for technical routes and long linkups began the next Summer after spending the Winter getting in trail-running shape. Seeing all the cool traverses from familiar Idaho peakbaggers and runners, and hearing about routes that “couldn’t be done,” I was inspired to continue to try new things.
